The program is funded through the Tri-County (Harrison, Monona, and Shelby Co.) Early Childhood Iowa Project. The Learning for Life program follows the Parents as Teachers curriculum and it is designed to offer developmental information and support to all parents of infants and young children (prenatal to kindergarten entry).

Parents as Teachers build strong communities, thriving families, and children who are healthy, safe, and ready to learn by matching parents and caregivers with trained professionals who make regular personal home visits during a child’s earliest years in life, from prenatal through kindergarten.

In October 2021, Myrtue's Learning for Life program completed the Parents as Teachers National Center Quality Endorsement & Improvement Process and earned the highest designation: Blue Ribbon Affiliate status!
