Myrtue Medical Center's COVID-19 Testing

As we continue to see COVID-19 cases on the rise nationally, the testing supplies are also impacted and affected. Currently, there is a nationwide shortage in rapid COVID-19 tests (results are provided within an hour). This shortage influences the availability of rapid COVID-19 test for our facility. Therefore, Myrtue is saving the rapid COVID-19 tests for those who have severe presenting symptoms and illness or possible hospitalization.

Testing at Myrtue Medical Center

• The Harlan Clinic and our drive-thru offer COVID-19 Testing. Appointments can be scheduled by calling centralized scheduling at 1.833.662.2273 or 712.755.4516. For Saturday appointments in the Harlan Clinic, please call 712.755.5130. All testing needs a physician referral.

Appointments in the Harlan Clinic are available from 7:00 AM – 8:00 PM (Monday – Thursday), 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM (Friday), and 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM (Saturday).

• Appointments in the drive-thru clinic is 3:00 PM -4:00 PM (Monday – Friday). Drive-thru testing is for people who need to be tested prior to travel, prior to a procedure, or who are mildly ill. These tests will be offered by appointment and provider referral by calling 1.833.662.2273 or 712.755.4516. Currently, results will typically take 48 to 72 hours.

Additional testing

• Myrtue Medical Center’s Public Health offers free home testing kits. These tests can be picked up from Public Health at 2712 12th St, Harlan, IA 51537, 712.755.4308. The home tests are a saliva-based test, and results are typically available 48 hours after it is received by the state.
