Myrtue’s Public Health COVID-19 Vaccine Availability

Myrtue Medical Center’s Department of Public Health is providing COVID-19 vaccine at the Community Health building on Friday’s in November starting Friday, November 12 and Wednesdays in December. Please review eligibility for primary series and boost doses for all three COVID-19 vaccines below:
Primary Series
- Anyone 12 years of age and older (Pfizer)
- Anyone 18 years of age and older (Moderna & Janssen)
COVID-19 Boost Vaccine
Janssen: Anyone 18 years of age and older that is 2 months post first vaccine.
Pfizer and Moderna: Anyone 18 years of age and older that is 6 months post-second vaccine dose AND meets one of the following criteria:
- Age: 65 years or older
- Health: You have underlying health conditions that increase the risk of severe COVID-19 disease.
- Occupation: The work you do puts you at greater risk of exposure. Some examples include teachers, healthcare workers, and grocery store workers.
Mix and Match Choice: In general, it is recommended that you boost with the same vaccine you received as a primary series. However, you may choose to receive a different vaccine as your boost dose—the appropriate minimum interval will apply according to the vaccine you choose.

Friday appointments are available from 12PM-4PM and will include a 15 minute observation period post vaccine. Please go to shelbycountyclinics.com to schedule your appointment or call Public Health at 712.755.4422 for assistance. Please review the EUA Fact Sheet for the COVID-19 vaccine of your choice posted on Myrtue’s website prior to your appointment, or you may review the COVID-19 vaccine information of your choice upon registration at Public Health. A COVID-19 vaccination clinic will not be held at the Community Health Building on Friday, November 26th.
