Back-to-School Vaccinations
- Posted On:
Myrtue Medical Center’s Department of Public Health is offering a Back-to-School Clinic on August 4th from 2 PM-6 PM for Vaccine for Children (VFC) eligible children. School-required vaccines typically impact children entering kindergarten, 7th grade and 12th grade. However, it is a good practice to regularly review your child’s vaccines to be sure that he/she is protected from all vaccine-preventable illnesses. All childhood immunizations will be available to meet your child’s healthcare needs.
To schedule an appointment, please go to https://shelbycountyclinics.com and select Public Health Immunization Clinics. Walk-ins are also welcome. Children who are eligible for no-cost vaccines include:
- Children with Medicaid insurance coverage
- Children who do not have health insurance of any kind
- Children who have insurance that does not pay for the cost of the vaccine
- Children who are of Native American or Alaskan Native origin.
This will be the only clinic provided by the Public Health Department for the back-to-school season. Parents are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible to secure their desired date and time. If you have questions regarding your child’s immunization needs, please call Shelby County Public Health at 712.755.4422 for more information.
