Outpatient Specialty Clinic

Full-time position (36 hours per week). Works Monday through Friday 7:00 am to 5:00 pm varied shifts. Utilizes the nursing process to provide and direct quality patient care in the Outpatient Clinic setting. Directs and provides patient/family teaching. Provides leadership when working with health team members in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. Applies knowledge of illnesses, injuries, and diseases using available resources in the assessment process. Documents nursing assessments and intervention. Communicates information to peers, supervisor, physicians. Competent within the scope of practice for care of all ages of patients. Must be a Registered Nurse currently licensed in the State of Iowa. Must be a graduate from an approved Professional Nursing program. Certification in Basic Life Support is required within three months of date of hire. Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification is also required.

Nurse Navigator

Outpatient Specialty Department

Full-time position (40 hours per week).  Works five days per week, hours vary.  Is the first point of contact for patients and families and provides comprehensive coordination of care between internal and external clinical staff, providers, and their patients from pre-admission through discharge.  Coordinates patient care and services and verifies patient and family understanding of the procedure, surgery, and/or hospitalization process.  Advises the healthcare team and provides leadership throughout the patient’s care.  Must be a Registered Nurse currently licensed in Iowa with at least two years’ experience in clinical nursing required; BSN preferred.  Previous case management and/or nurse navigator experience preferred.  Must possess strong interpersonal skills and be detailed oriented for coordination of multiple facets of patient experience.  Pursues continuing education and takes personal responsibility for keeping abreast of current issues and ideas.

Radiology Technologist

Diagnostic Imaging Department

On-call position.  Works one weekend per month plus one holiday per year and as needed in department.  Weekend includes:  Friday 7:00 pm to Sunday 7:00 pm.  Weekday schedule varies according to department needs.  Will be responsible for all x-ray and CT exams needed by the Emergency Room and Med/Surg unit during these hours.  Must be professional, reliable, and able to work independently.  Must be able to manage multiple exams at one time.  Excellent customer service and communication skills required.  CT experience preferred, but not required.  Must be a graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.  Must be ARRT registered and have a current Iowa Permit to Practice.

Environmental Services Staff

Environmental Services Department

Casual position available.  Works as needed; a few shifts per month.  Assumes responsibility for overall cleaning of patient rooms, work areas, and public areas according to standards of the hospital. May be required to sort and/or transport laundry.  Successful completion of the work on a regular basis would result in a clean, safe, and attractive environment which is conducive to the recovery of ill patients and contributes positively to staff morale and the public relations of the hospital.  Training and experience not required.  Hospital will do on-the-job training.  Must know how to use common house cleaning devices to keep areas clean.  Must know how to care for equipment,  how to measure cleaning solutions, and be alert to hazards.  Completion of high school or equivalent preferred.

Full-time position (36-40 hours per week).  Works Monday through Friday.  Provides therapeutic services for patients utilizing group, individual, and family therapy sessions to older adults in an intensive outpatient environment.  Works within a small, interdisciplinary team with a focus on quality patient care and provision of services ordered by a physician.  Documents all completed services in compliance with provided standards and regulations and is thorough with details and organization.

Full-time position (36-40 hours per week).Works Monday through Friday.  Ensures that the intensive outpatient psychiatric program meets Psychiatric Medical Care’s (PMC) standards.  Will be Supervisor of the program staff, responsibilities include:  evaluating staff performance, recruiting and screening new staff, and providing community education to create awareness of the program.  Good relationship building skills are a must:  comfortable and experienced with working closely with hospital CEOs, CFOs, CNOs, and high level decision makers.  Must have a proven ability in conflict resolution and effective problem solving.  Directs and coordinates the activities of staff to ensure quality patient care.  Must incorporate financial accountability into program activities.  Two to three years of experience with seniors, hospital or nursing facility preferred.  Must have a proficiency using a PC in a Windows environment, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and electronic medical records.  Experience communicating and working closely with physicians.  Understanding and experience in behavioral healthcare.  Must have a demonstrated skill in utilization management and review systems.  Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multiple disciplines.  Demonstrated skill in problem solving, consensus building, conflict resolution, advocacy, and team building.  Ability to accomplish work objectives where few precedents or guidelines currently exist.  Excellent oral and written communication skills required.  Associates degree or higher in nursing required.  RN licensure required.  Must meet any applicable state certification standards.

Full-time position (36 hours per week).  Works 7:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday.  Call required in addition.  Utilizes the nursing process to provide and direct quality patient care in the Outpatient Clinic setting.  Directs and provides patient/family teaching.  Provides leadership when working with health team members in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.  Applies knowledge of illnesses, injuries, and diseases using available resources in the assessment process.  Documents nursing assessments and interventions, etc.  Communicates information to peers, supervisors, physicians.  Organizes schedules and appointments and communicates with specialty medical practitioners and other staff.  Must be a graduate from an approved Professional Nursing program.  Must have a current Iowa Registered Nurse license.  Certification in Basic Life Support is required within 3 months of date of hire.  Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification is required within 12 months of date of hire.

Charge Nurse – Night Shift

Medical/Surgical Department

Full-time position (36 hours per week).  Works 7:00 pm to 7:00 am various days.  Works every third weekend.  Responsible for planning, directing, supervising, and managing nursing activities in the delivery of quality, cost-effective patient care in the Medical/Surgical inpatient, outpatient, SNF, and SCU areas.  Coordinates activities and programs with other hospital services and involved physicians.  Assumes shift clinical and management responsibility for the Med/Surg inpatient, outpatient, SFN, and SCU areas.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to policies and procedures; quality improvement/quality assurance activities, and membership in committees as assigned.  At least one year experience including Med/Surg and SCU required.  Must possess technical skills and knowledge of equipment mechanisms necessary to deliver quality nursing care.  Must be a Registered Nurse currently licensed in Iowa.  Must be a graduate from an approved Professional Nursing program.  Current certification in Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support for RNs required.  Utilizes and builds upon knowledge acquired through formal education.

Medical Technologist (Night Shift)

Laboratory Department

Full-time position (36 hours per week). Works 6:00 pm to 6:00 am (six days on; eight days off).  Performs various chemical, microscopic, and bacteriologic tests to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease.  Receives or obtains specimens for laboratory analysis and prepares tissues to be sent for pathology.  Applies techniques used in fields of bacteriology, hematology, serology, blood banking, and chemical and morphological examinations.  Records and charts laboratory test results.  Is responsible for specimen processing, test performance, and reporting of results.  No experience is necessary other than that received in a medical technology school.  Must be a graduate of an accredited school of approved medical technology, and it is recommended to be registered by the ASCP, NCA, HHS or equivalent as an MT or MLT.

Entry Desk Clerk

Petersen Family Wellness Center

On-call position.  Works various hours Saturdays and Sundays.  Provides supervision, guidance, and assistance upon entering the Wellness Center.  Assists with membership enrollment, POS, and customer service to Wellness Center participants; ensures the general appearance of the facility, entry desk and vending areas are clean and in good working order, and performs documentation and record keeping as required.  Knowledge and use of exercise equipment preferred.  PFWC will provide on-the-job training.
