Director of Community Health

Full-time position (40 hours per week). Works Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Some call required. Directs, assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates delivery of patient care to clients in the Community Health settings. Provides administrative direction to development and evaluation of all department staff, programs and services, and maintains operations aspects in collaboration with administrative support services. Maintains all clinical, financial and statistical records and reports required in Community Health. Ensures health care services are available to all county residents by administering county, state and federal funding for public health, and assessing health needs within the community. Maintains knowledge of local, state and federal legislation and rules/regulations regarding public health nursing practice, home health agencies, hospice agencies, behavioral health care and health care administration. Prepares and is accountable for Community Health capital, operating and personnel budget. Prepares grant applications. Provides administrative direction and assures patient billing, grant brochures and claims and general bookkeeping tasks. Participates in the development, implementation, interpretation and evaluation of departmental goals, policies and procedures, standards of practice and new programs. Minimum of three years in home care/hospice nursing experience recommended, part of which has been in a supervisory capacity. Has demonstrated ability in nursing practice and competence in management and leadership skills. Considerable experience with grants and contracts preferred. Has familiarity with principles related to death, dying, grief, bereavement and commitment to the hospice concept. Must be Registered Nurse with Baccalaureate degree in Nursing with current Iowa license.

Part-time position (27 hours per week). Works 7:45 am to 5:30 pm Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Prioritizes patient appointments for medical practitioners’s schedules. Utilizes critical judgement to coordinate with practitioner and clinical staff members for patient access. Applies knowledge of illnesses, injuries and diseases, using available resources in the assessment process. Assesses patient’s problems on the phone, triages calls, discusses with medical practitioner/nursing staff and returns calls. Documents nursing intervention, patient response, effectiveness, complications, etc. One year previous experience in a clinical position preferred. Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing program possessing a current Iowa Nursing license. Must either be certified in CPR or obtain certification during the first three months of employment.

Full-time position (36 hours per week). Works 12-hour shifts Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Five weekends on; one weekend off (flexibility with weekend off). Holiday rotation. One-year position commitment. Generous compensation and benefits package.

Utilizes the nursing process to provide and direct quality patient care and patient/family teaching in various settings: Med/Surg, Swing Bed, OB/Nursery, SCU, and ER. Provides leadership working with health team members to maintain standards for professional nursing practices in the clinical setting. Certification in Basic Life Support is required within 3 months of date of hire. Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification is required within 12 months of date of hire.

Information Systems Technician

Information Services Department

Full-time position (40 hours per week). Works Monday through Friday 7:30 am to 4:00 pm OR 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. On-call required. Provides computer and computer network technical support to Myrtue Medical Center staff in various departments. Develops project specifications and statements of problems and procedures to create or modify computer programs, and is to a greater or lessor degree involved in the day-to-day management and operations of the Medical Center’s computer and information management systems. Assists users to resolve computer related problems such as inoperative PC based or network hardware or software. Performs Help Desk operations for users and systems i.e., receives user calls and assesses the level of problem and formulates a correct and timely response, which will bring the user or system back into operation status. Strong information systems management skills; strong interpersonal communications skills, PC hardware assembly and maintenance, PC software installation, training, and maintenance, computer/network equipment evaluation and acquisition skills, network installation and maintenance skills, system analysis and programming skills desirable. SCCM preferred. College degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent experience.

Mental Health Therapist (School-Based Pre-K to 5th Grade)

Full-time position (40 hours per week). Will be assigned to the Harlan Community School District and Shelby County Catholic Schools and their buildings. Is responsible for providing a comprehensive array of clinical services, including but not limited to assessment, individual and family therapy for students Pre-K through 5th grade. Serves as an active participant in all clinical programs of the department and is responsible for providing a comprehensive array of clinical services delivered at the school including but not limited to: behavioral health evaluations, assessment, individual and family therapy, behavioral health crisis assessment, consultation, and education. The right candidate will have a heart for children with some training in play therapy and TFCBT. Two years equivalent experience and field experience in a similar setting during the educational process preferred. Must be eligible to be licensed in the State of Iowa to practice as an LMHC, LISW, or MFT. Masters degree in Human Service field such as Counseling, Social Work, or other mental health related field required.

Part-time position (works 20 hours per week). Works every third weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) 7:00 pm to 7:00 am. Works Monday through Thursday 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm. Utilizes the nursing process to provide and direct quality patient care. Directs and provides patient/family teaching. Provides leadership when working with health team members in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. Completes admission assessments and documentation. Appropriate assessments/reassessments completed with documentation. Initiates and individualizes care plans on admission. Works with medical practitioner to care for a variety of patients. Functions appropriately in emergency situations. Previous ER or Med/Surg experience required. Must be a graduate from an approved Professional Nursing program. Must be a Registered Nurse currently licensed in the State of Iowa. BLS and ACLS required. TNCC preferred. PALS preferred. NRB preferred.

One full-time and one part-time position available. FT position works 36 hours per week 7:00 pm to 7:00 am (12-hour shifts). PT position works 24 hours per week 7:00 pm to 7:00 am (12-hour shifts). Utilizes the nursing process to provide and direct quality patient care in various settings: Med/Surg, Swing Bed, OB, SCU, ER, Outpatient, and Perioperative. Directs and provides leadership when working with health team members in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. Completes admission assessments and documentation. Initiates and individualizes care plans on admission. Organizes and anticipates patient care needs, promptly answers call lights, and responds to requests promptly. Must be a graduate from an approved Professional Nursing program. Must be currently licensed in the State of Iowa as a Registered Nurse. Certification in Basic Life Support is required within 3 months of date of hire. Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification is required within 12 months of date of hire.

Radiology Technologist

Diagnostic Imaging Department

On-call position. Works four nights per week Sunday through Wednesday 7:00 pm to 7:00 am. Works one holiday per year. Will be responsible for all x-ray and CT exams needed by the Emergency Room and Medical/Surgical unit during these hours. Must be professional, reliable, and able to work independently. Must be able to manage multiple exams at one time. Excellent customer service and communication skills required. CT experience preferred but not required. Must be a graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program. Must be ARRT registered and have a current Iowa Permit to Practice.

Full-time position (36 hours per week). Works Monday through Friday 7:00 am to 5:00 pm varied shifts. Utilizes the nursing process to provide and direct quality patient care in the Outpatient Clinic setting. Directs and provides patient/family teaching. Provides leadership when working with health team members in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. Applies knowledge of illnesses, injuries, and diseases using available resources in the assessment process. Documents nursing assessments and intervention. Communicates information to peers, supervisor, physicians. Competent within the scope of practice for care of all ages of patients. Must be a Registered Nurse currently licensed in the State of Iowa. Must be a graduate from an approved Professional Nursing program. Certification in Basic Life Support is required within three months of date of hire. Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification is also required.
