Vickie Gillespie, RN, BSN

Director of Community Health at Myrtue Medical Center. This is a Medicare/Medicaid Certified Home Health Agency and Hospice Agency, and provides the Public Health Nursing for Shelby County.

 

Debbie Moores, RN, CHPN

The Assistant Director of the Hospice Department, Debbie is a certified hospice and palliative nurse specializing in symptom management in end of life care and chronic diseases.  Debbie manages the day to day operations of the department, is available for consultation of symptom management, and sees patients in their homes.  Debbie can be reached at 712-755-4420.

 

Dianne Book, RN

Patient Care Coordinator of the MMC Hospice department.  Dianne handles referral intake, is available for evaluations, and consultations.  Dianne routinely does hospice admissions and continues to do case management .  Debbie and Dianne are both available for community programs.

 

Kathleen Pattee, RN

Hospice Nurse who does hospice admissions and case management.

 

Shannon Cairney, BSW

Shannon is the MMC Hospice Social Worker, available to patients and families to coordinate and assist with end of life issues, financial questions, and funeral planning.  Shannon also assists in facilitating grief support classes.  To reach Shannon, call 712-755-4308.

 

Cathy Jensen

Cathy is the MMC Hospice Support Coordinator. She has a degree in psychology.  Cathy coordinates the volunteers, spiritual, and bereavement aspect of our program. Cathy facilitates volunteer training, grief support classes for both adult and children, and is available for community programs and community grief support.  To reach Cathy, you may call her at 712-755-4424.

 

Jane Russman

MMC Hospice office assistant.  Jane assists the Hospice team with filing, mailings, and record keeping.

 

Tom Tremmel

MMC Pharmacist-Meets with Hospice team weekly and is available to Hospice staff for pharmacy review of Hospice patients' medications.

 

Dr. Tim Brelje

MMC Hospice medical advisor-meets with Hospice team weekly and available for consultation as needed to achieve symptom management.

 

Joyce Poggensee, Amber Kooiker, Janelle Kenkel are Home/Hospice Care Aides who assist with personal hygiene and light housekeeping.

 

The volunteer program is an important part of our Hospice team. They provide support and companionship for patients and families, do respite care and they do personal or business errands for the family. They may help with general office work. All volunteers working with patients and families are required to attend a scheduled training program.
