Childcare Attendant

Petersen Family Wellness Center

On-call position.  Works various hours dependent upon need.  Provides supervision, guidance, and assistance to the children of fitness center participants; keeps the children safe, clean, and comfortable; helps children to use restroom when needed; ensures the general appearance of the childcare facility and equipment; keeps toys clean, sanitized, and in good working order; and performs documentation and record keeping as required.  Knowledge and use of exercise equipment preferred.  PFWC will provide on-the-job training.

Radiology Technologist

Diagnostic Imaging Department

On-call position.  Works one weekend per month and one holiday per year.  Weekend hours are Friday 7:00 pm to Sunday 7:00 pm.  Weekday hours vary according to department needs.  Will be responsible for all x-ray and CT exams needed by the Emergency Room and Medical/Surgical unit during these hours.  Must be professional, reliable, and able to work independently.  Must be able to manage multiple exams at one time.  Excellent customer service and communication skills.  CT experience preferred, but not required.  Must be a graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program. Must be ARRT registered and have a current Iowa Permit to Practice.

Environmental Services Staff

Environmental Services Department

Full-time position (40 hours per week).  Works five days per week Sunday through Saturday.  Works 4:00 pm to 12:30 am.  Rotates weekends and holidays.  Assumes responsibility for overall cleaning of patient rooms, work areas, and public areas according to standards of the hospital.  May be required to sort and/or transport laundry. Successful completion of the work on a regular basis would result in a clean, safe, and attractive environment which is conducive to the recovery of ill patients and contributes positively to staff morale and the public relations of the hospital.  Thoroughly cleans assigned areas in a timely manner by applying cleaning techniques effectively.  Uses cleaning supplies in the correct manner.  Training and experience not required.  Hospital will do on-the-job training.  Must know how to use common house cleaning devices to keep areas clean.  Must know how to care for equipment, how to measure cleaning solutions, and be alert to hazards.  Completion of high school or equivalent is preferred.

Accountant

Fiscal Services Department

Part-time position (16-24 hours per week).  Works 8:00 am to 4:30 pm various days Monday through Friday.  Performs financial functions to ensure the accurate and timely completion of management financial information.  Prepares and enters monthly accounting data for the general ledger.  Maintains supporting schedules to general ledger.  Assists in preparation of monthly financial statements and annual internal hospital and tax budgets.  Performs backup support for payroll.  Performs bank reconciliations for multiple accounts.  Enters accounts receivable adjustments into system and generates reports.  Assists in patient billing functions.  Minimum of two years accounting or financial experience.  High school diploma or equivalent, associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business preferred.

Registered Nurse

OB Department

On-Call Position 12 hours/week. 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. Utilizes the nursing process to provide and direct quality patient care to OB patients and newborns. He/she directs and provides patient/family teaching. The RN provides leadership when working with health team members in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. Provide intense nursing care to laboring women and be able to access labor dystocia, non-reassuring fetal heart rate patterns or any arising OB related emergencies. Provide education, advice and support to laboring women and support person or people through different therapies, different pain management plans, and individual birth plans. Communicate clearly and timely to OB’s physician of progress of labor or any medical concerns, NB’s physician of respiratory difficulty, feeding issues or any dismissal obstacles. Complete assessments on obstetric patients and newborns and recognize any abnormal findings, utilize nursing interventions, communicate with physicians accurately and thoroughly. Facilitate the bonding of the family unit. Current Iowa license. Graduate from an approved professional Nursing Program. Certification in Basic Life Support is required within 3 months of date of hire. Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification is required within 12 months of date of hire. Takes responsibility for pursuit of continuing education.

He/she directs and provides patient/family teaching. The RN provides leadership when working with health team members in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. Completes admission assessments and documentation. Appropriate assessments/reassessments completed with documentation. Initiates and individualizes care plans on admission. Reviews care plan per policy. Provides and documents patient/family education. Keeps practitioner/charge nurse informed of change in patient condition. Organizes and anticipates patient care needs, promptly answers call lights, and responds to request promptly. Provides age-appropriate care. Functions appropriately in emergency situations. Current Iowa license. Graduate from an approved professional Nursing Program. Certification in Basic Life Support is required within 3 months of date of hire. Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification is required within 12 months of date of hire. Behavioral Health Professional (LISW, LMHC)

Behavioral Health Department

Full-Time Position. Works Monday, Tuesday, Thursday; 7:45 a.m. – 8:15 p.m. Behavioral Health Professionals serve as active participants in the clinical programs of the department, including both direct treatment of outpatients, performance of evaluation activities, provides emergency services and consultation and education. Provides need assessment. Completes Comprehensive Psychosocial Assessment to include addiction issues and Mental Status Exam. Conducts therapy sessions with client(s) and groups. Refers and collaborates with other agencies and practitioners having a joint interest in meeting needs of the client. Reviews cases to assure quality of care. Collaborates as needed with consulting practitioner in the formation of treatment plans and discharge plans. Provides crises intervention including on-call emergency services. Experience of two years or equivalent or field experience in a similar setting during educational process. Eligible to be licensed in the state of Iowa to practice as a  Licensed Mental Health Provider. A Master’s degree in Human Service field such as Counseling, Social Work or other mental health related field.

 

Behavioral Health Professional/School Therapist (Pre K to 5th Grade)

Behavioral Health Department

Full-time position (40 hours per week).  Works Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.  Will be assigned to the Harlan Community School District and their buildings.  This position is responsible for providing a comprehensive array of clinical services for students Pre-K through 5th grade.  Serves as an active participant in all clinical programs of the department and is responsible for providing a comprehensive array of clinical services delivered at the school including but not limited to; behavioral health evaluation, assessment,  individual and family therapy, behavioral health crisis assessment, consultation, and education.  Conducts therapy sessions with client(s) and groups.  Refers and collaborates with other agencies and practitioners having a joint interest in meeting needs of the client, especially relevant school personnel.  Experience equivalent to two years and field experience in a similar setting during educational process required. Must be eligible to be licensed in the State of Iowa to practice as an Independently Licensed Mental Health Provider.  Master’s degree in Human Service field such as Counseling, Social Work or other mental health related field required.   

Case Manager

Utilization Review Department

On-call position.  Works as needed Monday through Friday.  Possible hours are 6:00 am to 2:30 pm OR 8:00 am to 4:30 pm OR 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.  Is responsible for facilitating the patient’s hospitalization from pre-admission through discharge.  Coordinates with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other health team members to expedite medically appropriate, cost-effective care.  Applies clinical expertise and medical appropriateness criteria to resource utilization and discharge planning.  Will provide case management intervention by assessing, monitoring, evaluating options and services to effect appropriate, individualized plan for the patient across the continuum of care.  Must be a graduate of an approved Professional Nursing program.  Must be a Registered Nurse currently licensed in Iowa with five years experience in clinical nursing.  Previous utilization review and case management experience preferred.  Computer knowledge required.
