Business Support Specialist

Fiscal Services Department

Part-time position (40 hours every two weeks).  Works 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday (days may vary).  Supports both accounting functions and business program support.  Performs financial functions to ensure the accurate and timely completion of management financial information and provides backup for payroll, accounting, and business office functions.  This individual will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve operational concerns.  Enters monthly accounting data for general ledger.  Maintains supporting schedules to general ledger.  Assists in preparation of monthly financial statements.  Assists in preparation of annual internal hospital and tax budgets.  Works with outside auditors on annual audit.  Performs backup support for payroll and accounts payable.  Assists in patient billing functions.  Must possess strong business and computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel.  Two years business office experience preferred.  High school diploma or equivalent, associate’s in business administration, or two years related work experience required.

Nursing Supervisor

Part-time position (24 hours per week).  Works 7:00 pm to 7:00 am.  Works every third weekend.  Manages nursing activities in the delivery of quality, cost-effective patient care.  Directs, coordinates, and participates in the delivery of patient care.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: staff performance appraisals, staff and scheduling, quality improvement, achievement of departmental goals, and membership on Nurse Management Council.  Supervises, coordinates, and evaluates the operations and organization of the department to provide quality patient care.  At least two years of clinical experience in the Emergency Department as well as the Medical/Surgical area required.  Must be a graduate from an approved Professional Nursing program.  Must be a Registered Nurse currently licensed in the State of Iowa.  Certification in Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support required.

Entry Desk Clerk

Petersen Family Wellness Center

On-call position.  Works various hours; nights and weekends.  Provides supervision, guidance, and assistance upon entering the Wellness Center.  Assists with membership enrollment, POS, and customer service to Wellness Center participants; ensures the general appearance of the facility, entry desk and vending areas are clean and in good working order, and performs documentation and record keeping as required.  Knowledge and use of exercise equipment preferred.  PFWC will provide on-the-job training.

Fitness Monitor

Two on-call positions available.  Hours are variable, with nights and weekends.  Provides supervision, guidance, and assistance to Wellness Center participants; ensures the general appearance of the facility, equipment are clean and in good working order, and performs documentation and record keeping as required.  Knowledge and use of exercise equipment preferred.  PFWC will provide on-the-job training.

Certified Nurse’s Assistant (CNA)

Medical/Surgical Department

Part-time position (20 hours per week).  Works 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.  Works every other weekend.  Assists the professional nursing staff in providing quality patient care.  Responsible for performing a variety of patient care activities including, but not limited to:  ADLs, assessments, documentation, etc, and related health care functions under the direct supervision of an RN or LPN.  Assists with direct patient care including taking vitals, recording data, relaying pertinent information, and assisting with patient hygiene and personal care.  Assists with ambulation and transfers.  Completion of an approved 75-hour Nursing Assistant course and/or successful completion of Nursing Assistant certification written and skills tests or completion of one year of an approved practical nurse program or professional nurse program required.

Nurse Manager

Medical/Surgical Department

Full-time position (40 hours per week).  Works Monday through Friday with occasional weekend and evening hours.  Plans, directs, supervises, and manages the nursing activities in the delivery of quality, cost-effective patient care in the Med/Surg department.  Coordinates department activities and programs with other hospital services and involved medical practitioners.  Assumes 24-hour clinical and management responsibilities of the department.  Prepares and evaluates budgets, policies, and procedures.  Develops, implements, and evaluates department goals pertaining to quality improvement.  Key role in coordination of Clinical Practice Council.  At least two years of clinical experience in Emergency Department as well as the Medical/Surgical area required.  Must be a graduate from an approved Professional Nursing program.  Must be a Registered Nurse currently licensed in the State of Iowa.  Current certification in Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support required.

Registered Nurse

Medical/Surgical Department

Full-time position (36 hours per week).  Works 7:00 pm to 7:00 am.  Weekend package optional.  Utilizes the nursing process to provide and direct quality patient care in various settings:  Med/Surg, Swing Bed, OB, SCU, ER, Outpatient, and Perioperative.  Directs and provides patient/family teaching.  Provides leadership when working with health team members in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.  Completes admission assessments and documentation.  Initiates and individualizes care plans on admission.  Keeps practitioner/charge nurse informed of change in patient condition.  Must be a graduate from an approved professional Nursing Program.  Must be a Registered Nurse currently licensed in the State of Iowa.  Certification in Basic Life Support is required within 3 months of date of hire.  Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification is required within 12 months of date of hire.

Staff Pharmacist

Pharmacy Department

On-call position.  Works various days Sunday through Saturday.  Schedule varies.  Registered on-call staff pharmacist needed to perform day-to-day functions as designated by the Pharmacy Director.  Provides the medical center with pharmacy services which meet legal requirements and takes care of medication needs of the patients served.  Responsibilities include:  oversight and verification of pharmacy technicians’ functions; Sterile IV compounding/Chemotherapy; clinical evaluation of drug therapy of inpatients, outpatients, and employees.  Prefer acute care experience/hospital experience.  Must have computer experience.  Must be knowledgeable in all aspects of pharmacy procedures and techniques.  Must hold an Iowa Pharmacy license and have completed a degree from an accredited college of pharmacy.

Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

Rural Health Clinics

Full-time position (40 hours per week).  Performs physical examinations, prescribes medication, orders lab and x-ray examinations according to physician guidelines.  Performs other diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as determined by protocol.  Maintains appropriate records.  Makes referrals as appropriate.  Must be licensed/certified in the State of Iowa as an ARNP or PA-C.  CPR required.
