Certified Nurses Assistant (CNA)

Medical/Surgical Department

Three on-call positions available.  Works various shifts as needed.  Assists the professional nursing staffing providing quality patient care.  Is responsible for performing a variety of patient care activities including, but not limited to, ADL’s, assessments, documentation, etc, and related health care functions under the direct supervision of an RN or LPN.  Reports to the Medical/Surgical Nurse Manager.  Assists with direct patient care including taking vitals, recording data, relaying pertinent information, and assisting with patient hygiene and personal care.  Assists with ambulation and transfers.  No experience required.  Completion of an approved 75-hour Nursing Assistant course and/or successful completion of Nursing Assistant Certification written and skills tests or completion of one year of an approved practical nurse program or professional nurse program required.

Registered Nurse

Hospice Department

On-call position.  Works various hours Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm as needed.  Utilizes the nursing process to provide and direct quality patient care.  Provides leadership when working with team members in maintaining standards of professional nursing practice.  Participates with the interdisciplinary team to  develop the plan of care and supports Home Health and Hospice philosophies in caring for clients.  Promotes health and wellness through education, clinical practice, and home care for the ill and disabled.  Completes assessments/reassessments, pertinent documentation, plan of care, and evaluations on time.  Makes visits according to orders.  Communicates with practitioner/charge nurse to keep them informed of changes in patient condition.  Hospice experience and some lead nursing or supervisory experience preferred.  Must possess compassion, patience, and empathy for the patients and families being served.  Takes responsibility for knowledge of death and dying process, grief, bereavement, and nursing management of a hospice/home health patient.  Must be a graduate from an approved professional Nursing Program.  Must be a Registered Nurse currently licensed in the State of Iowa.  Certification in Basic Life Support is required.
