Outpatient Specialty Clinic

Part-time position (24 hours per week).  Works 7:00 am to 5:00 pm every Tuesday, Thursday, and every other Friday; every other Wednesday morning; one Monday afternoon per month.  Is of prime importance in helping the physician respond successfully to the increasing demands for his/her services.  Is the essential link between the physician and his/her patients and professional associates.  Delivers patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.  Assists in the patient teaching activities and maintains the standards of care.  Obtains patient histories, medication, and documents in chart.  Communicates effectively with scheduling clerks and specialty physicians.  Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing program possessing a current Iowa nursing license or be a graduate of medical assistant training – possessing certification.  Must be certified in CPR or obtain certification during the first three months of employment.
